Grainne Kelly

Getting to know Coach Kelly: Coach Kelly is the current Head Coach at Illinois Wesleyan University and graduated as one of the most accomplished players in the program's history. Coach Kelly holds records at IWU for goals and points, and holds the top two records for points in a season. Coach Kelly was a two time IWLCA Zag Sports DIII Academic Honor Roll recipient, four time CCIW Academic All-Conference Award Recipient, 2019 Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference Honoree, three time CCIW First Team All-Conference, Great Lakes First Team All Region recipient in 2019, Great Lakes Second Team All Region in 2018, 2018 Google Cloud Academic All District Team honoree, and the recipient of the CCIW Merle Chapman Leadership award. Coach Kelly was named the 2021 Positive Coach of the Year by the IGLCA while serving as the head coach at Lockport High School for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Getting to know Coach Bono:  Coach Bono has been with us since the start coaching 4 to 18 year old's! She enjoys creating long-term relationships with the young women who look up to her. We couldn't be more lucky to have such a great role model for our young players! When she isn't coaching lacrosse she is working in the athletic department at Fenwick High School, we can't wait to see her grow the Fenwick girls lacrosse program.

Maddie Berni

Getting to know Coach Berni: Coach Maddie was on our first ever East Ave girls high school team and is now coaches our high school teams! Coach Maddie was Second Team All Conference and won the Respect Award. Coach Maddie finished her college career with 144 goals, 50 assists and 104 draw controls! When Coach Maddie isn't coaching she enjoys spending time with her family!

Getting to know Coach Abby: Coach Abby is an energetic and passionate coach that makes all of her players feel a part of the team. Coach Abby was a 3x Academic All-CCIW during her time at North Central and broke the record for most saves in a games! Coach Abby also helps our travel goalies grow their game at Sweet Home Goalie Academy. When Coach Abby is not coaching she enjoys reading working out and travelling.

Mackenzie Kidder

Getting to know Coach Mackenzie: Coach Mackenzie started playing lacrosse when she was in second grade and played all of the way through college. Throughout her varsity high school and college lacrosse career she totaled 222 points. Coach Mackenzie also was a two sport Division II athlete in college playing both varsity soccer and varsity lacrosse. Coach Mackenzie was Frontier League All Star junior and senior year, All North First Team senior year, All North Second Team junior year, NJCAA All American Honorable Mention, Scholar Athlete of the Month, multi week Athlete of the Week. When Coach Mackenzie is not coaching she enjoys playing volleyball and planning out her wedding!

Nina Deer

Getting to know Coach Nina: Coach Nina started playing lacrosse in 8th grade and went on to win countless awards in her college career at Cornell College. In 2022 Coach Nina was Cornell College Female Athlete of the Year, All-MWLC Second team, team captain and had the most assist in a season of any player in program history! Coach Nina is currently the assistant coach at Illinois Wesleyan University. Coach Nina enjoys running, yoga, reading and exploring new reseteraunts.

Getting to know Coach Caroline: Coach Caroline started playing lacrosse in second grade and had a dominant club and high school career. Coach Caroline is now playing at Division II Florida Institute of Technology. When Coach Caroline is not playing she enjoys cooking, running and going to the beach!

Getting to know Coach Genna: Coach Genna started playing lacrosse in high school and is now playing at College of DuPage in their inaugural season. Coach Genna enjoys coaching the U10 travel team as well as coaching her home town community team the Glen Ellyn Guardians! When Coach Genna isn't coaching she enjoys playing with her dog and reading.

Getting to know Coach Kaitlyn: Coach Kaitlyn is a current lacrosse player at Saint Mary's College. Last year Coach Kaitlyn's team played against the Ireland National Team at the University College of Dublin! When Coach Kaitlyn is not coaching she enjoys knitting and hiking.

Getting to know Coach Considine: Coach Jerry founded East Ave to provide a quality lacrosse experience to the youth in his hometown while studying finance and math at UIC. After five years coaching at the JV and freshmen level at Fenwick HS Jerry was promoted to the varsity head coach  where the team won the 2018 Sectional Championship. Coach Jerry has over a decade of coaching experience and has been coaching girls lacrosse over the last five years.

Getting to know Coach Giacotto: Coach Margaux was on our first ever East Ave girls high school team and now is a youth coach for us. Few players can match the passion that Margaux brings to the game and it shows every time she laces up for Carthage College and has resulted in multiple conference defensive player of the week awards! We are so lucky to have such a hard working role model for our players.

Getting to know Coach Doten: Coach Doten went to Lyons Township high school and was an eight-time varsity letter winner in cross country and lacrosse. Named to all conference and varsity MVP her senior year for lacrosse. Coach Doten then went on to play lacrosse at Allegheny where she had a strong freshmen year. Coach Doten missed her sophomore year with an injury and came back her junior year as team captain. Coach Doten is a literacy teacher focusing on elementary schools.  Coach Doten just moved back to the area from Milwaukee and is excited to start coaching with us!

Getting to know Coach Ristau: Coach Meghan has over 10 years of coaching experience at the high school and youth level! Ristau is the current JV coach at OPRF high school and is excited to start coaching future Huskie lacrosse players and teach them what it takes to compete at the high school level. When Coach Ristau is not coaching she is working as a digital support content specialist.

Jim Moy

Getting to know Coach Moy: Coach Moy has over a decade of coaching experience at some of the biggest powerhouses in the state! Coach Moy has been with East Ave since the start and helped us to develop into the program that we have become. While we can't thank Coach Moy enough for what he has done for us in lacrosse we are also thankful for all the work he does as a doctor on infectious disease during this pandemic.

Evan McKerns

Getting to know Coach McKerns: Evan grew up in Ohio playing lacrosse at Upper Arlington High School where he won the Ohio & Midwest Championship in 1994! Evan went on to play Division 1 Lacrosse at Lehigh University where his team won the Patriot League Championship in 1999. Evan has extensive experience coaching boys lacrosse at the youth, high school and college level including St. Edwards University in Austin Texas. Evan is looking forward to his third spring helping with East Ave youth and watching his daughters grow with their teammates and soon to be friends.
